Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 each large egg
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- In a small bowl stir together ½ cup of the sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, and ¼ tsp. kosher salt.
- In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, the remaining ¼ cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon, and additional ¼ tsp. salt. Add buttermilk, egg, the 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil, and vanilla; mix to form a stiff dough.
- Divide the dough into 24 equal portions, roll each into a ball, and fry in hot oil until golden brown, turning once, approximately 6 to 7 minutes.
- Transfer donut holes to paper towels to drain. Toss in remaining sugar mixed with mace and vanilla for coating. Serve warm.
